The first day back from summer vacation. Zeria yawned and stretched, moving from where she'd been curled up at the side of her husband, Stephen. She smiled, leaning over and placing a soft kiss on his lips.

"Time to wake up, love. It's the first day"

Stephen groaned, throwing an arm over his face.

"Do I have to?"

Zeria giggled as she shut the alarm off.

"Yes, you have to. It's the first day, and the headmaster can't miss. You know that"

Within a short span of time, both were showered and getting dressed in their professional attire. Zeria leaned over, helping Stephen do up his tie, then turned and had him zip her shirt up in the back.

"What are you going to do about that letter?"

She was referring to the one about Donahue High, a rival school who sought to take over Solomon High and destroy the school. They'd gotten the letter towards the end of the previous year as a threat to this year if they chose to open.

"We'll go on like we always have and protect the school to the best of our abilities"
"My brave man...I love you so much"

Another kiss, and the two grabbed the necessary supplies and materials for their days, heading out to their car; a shiny new Nissan 350Z that was black, Zeria's favorite color. A short drive...and they got to the campus. They were both several hours early, but all teachers were to be early today for the start so they could prepare and get everything ready for the incoming first years. All of them would have to start off the day with homeroom to get their first years familiar with the school and its rules, and give them their info packets.

Zeria turned to Stephen as they stopped in the entrance way, her eyes glowing with happiness and love.

"Are you ready, my love?
"I always am..."

"Wheeeee!"

The squeal makes her sound years younger than she really is, though at twenty-two, Jhenna isn't old at all. However, the thrill of riding a large winged animal never wears off, and is nearly the only thing to make her drop her usual quiet demeanor.

To make things even better for her, she is married to this particular winged animal. Today, Niko is in the form of a griffon, and he takes a special pleasure in diving out of the sky to land on the lawn, cantering to a stop and changing back to himself. "Guess it's time to start a new year, huh? Hope the kids can keep up, Combat isn't gonna be a joke anymore."

"It'll be fine, Niko. They'll be able to handle it."

"I hope you're right."

A swirl of emerald flames appears in the vacant fireplace in the teacher's lounge, and a tall man spins to a stop, brushing himself off as the flames dissipate.

Dusted off once more, Dante steps out into the room and looks around. "So this is what it looks like on the inside. Hmmm, not bad."

A wave of his hand, and his darkwood staff appears in his hand. Another wave, the door opens and he sweeps out into the hall and looks around. "Now... where was my office?"

Jhenna and Niko walk through the doors hand in hand, both remembering exactly where the large hall where their class will usually be held is located. Standing in the hall again however brings memories back, and not all of them are good ones.

"I wonder how Zeria--"
"--and Stephen--"
"--are doing. I heard they got married--"
"--a few years after what happened."

They look at each other, their matched speech patterns normal to them. The thoughts in their eyes are the same as well. "Should we go see them--"
"--and say hello?"
"Yes--"
"--I think we should."

They quickly leave the hall again, leaving behind, for a little while longer, the memories stored there.

Dante wanders aimlessly about the halls, his magic leading him in the general direction of his classroom. He is so busy taking in the magestic old building that he pays no attention to anything else until he can feel power. Power everywhere, several points of strength and tastes of emotions.

"Mmm, I think I'm going to like this place. It seems that most of the adults here are quite strong, which to me means that we have a good set of educators. It also means that I'm not such an anomaly afterall."

The tall Arcadian laughs to himself and continues on his way, more purposeful now. Upon reaching his classroom, he immediately writes his name on the blackboard and leans against his desk to wait for the students to come in.
